REVOLUTIONARY DISCOVERY ‘The human brain can change itself without operations or medication. Strokes are helped in recovery with neuroplastic treatments. Learning disorders are cured and IQ’s raised.
80 year olds can sharpen their memories to function the way they did when they were 55. The most important alteration in our view of the brain we have made, since the first sketch of its basic anatomy, is that the brain can change its own structure and function through thought and activity.
You can rewire the brain with thoughts to cure previously incurable obsession and traumas.
Children are not always stuck with the mental abilities they are born with. A damaged brain can often reorganize itself so that when one part fails, another can substitute.
If brain cells die, they can be replaced. Many circuits, even basic reflexes that we think are hardwired, are actually not. The Brain That Changes Itself By Norman Doidge
Thinking, learning and acting can turn genes turn on and off, thereby shaping our brain anatomy and behavior, one of the most extraordinary discoveries of the 20th Century’. The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doidge
FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS…
I have gone through the equivalent of a Masters Program at the Brain Changing Institute LLC and Family Health Coaching Center founded by Dr. Theresa Nesbitt, OBGYN, Chicago Illinois. The studies include cutting edge scientific based applications that release our Self Healing Mechanisms for Optimal Human Function without drugs or surgery.
In science, the changing brain is called neuroplasticity. Practitioners are called “Neuroplasticians”
But I am just going to call myself a Core Specialist. Unless you have a better idea:)
After more than 30 years in a fitness career and traveling the world I moved to San Diego 4 years ago on August 1st, 2009. I was tired of living in the desert and could only think of water, the ocean. I wanted to move my Pilates business to the beach, call it a ‘life’, and retire someday.
Little did I know that I would be in a 4 year, intense one-on-one study program and still not be done. Today, Dr. Theresa is my business partner as we launch Pelvic Floor Programs and Movement Mapping (TM). It has opened my eyes and hopefully yours too :).
This cutting edge science has given me a different perspective on how to be an efficient human being. Moving from the inside out and from the joint to create an effortless existence. I have more mobility and hold less tension which puts less stress on my body. This is after 30 years of working from the outside in
Pelvic Floor Rehab (TM)

How do I know if I need pelvic floor rehab?
If you ever have experienced…
• Back pain
• Leaking when you laugh cough or sneeze
• Knee, hip or joint pain
• Low belly pooch that won’t go away
Your inner core IS the true stabilizer of your spine and must pre activate prior to movement. It includes the Diaphragm, Thoracolumbar Fascia, Transversus Abdominis and the 3 layers of the Pelvic Floor muscles located at the bottom of your inner core.
How is this rehab done?
By creating a clear image. The clearer the image the better the result. Remember, we are working on the innermost pelvic floor layer that is controlled by your autonomic system.
**Note: Men have quite a different pelvic floor in that it tends to be very tight and rigid. This will add to hamstring pain, groin pulls, prostate issues and hip immobility leading to hip and knee replacements.

How do I know if I need Movement Mapping(TM) ?
If you have back, knee, neck or joint pain.
Over the past 30 years in the fitness industry we have been using only a ‘map’ which is what our muscles are like.
We know NOW that our brain is more like a GPS that updates the nervous system. As we do this, we need to see more of the ‘inside’. This is called proprioception. Seeing within or seeing whats invisible.
Think of your brain as a GPS, your body is the map and your landmarks are joints of your body. The sensors in the body that change the GPS is the joint. If we reprogram the joint, the nervous system will change and update the GPS (the brain).
It’s like driving to work everyday and crossing a bridge because it’s the most direct route and saves wear and tear on your car and tires: This is how the brain / body connection develops. Then the bridge collapses, this is equivalent to our bodies becoming injured or pregnant.
We find an alternate route to get to work: This is like creating compensations, using the ‘superstar’ muscles to pitch in creating an less efficient way to move our body. There is more wear and tear on your body/car and you have more frustration.
The bridge is complete: Your injury is healed, BUT you forgot how to take the more efficient route.
The way our nervous system works with our body is that everything is purposeful and intentional. If you have a thought in your mind to reach your hand out with the palm up and then turn the palm down. Your body “maps” this process. If you are doing this move improperly you are creating the wrong “map”. For example some people include their shoulder in this movement. When done repetitively, this movement, can lead to shoulder pain. But this is the movement their body has “mapped”, and they will continue doing it until it is recalibrated.
Movement Mapping(TM) recalibrates your GPS (nervous system) for the most efficient route of movement without calling in the ‘superstars’ like the shoulder.
How is this done? We give the brain the best information by moving the joint without including the muscles. This requires a clear image and intention. It puts you back on the right route without thinking about it and with less breakdowns.
